Shari Lapena, you had me fooled!

With twists and turns galore, this book about a dysfunctional family will leave you guessing right up until the end. I thoroughly enjoyed trying to work out the plot, well done, Shari, great book.

Don’t waste your time on this.

I just couldn’t get into this book at all. I listened to it for a few hours and felt that the plot & story was just going no where. Too many characters to keep track of and not enough of a ‘juicy plot’ to keep the reader/listener interested.

A very enjoyable listen

I might not have bought this if I had taken any notice of the reviews, since quite a few are negative. However, since I have enjoyed the author’s other books, I decided to go ahead anyway. I’m glad that I did. It’s the first book in a long time that has had me hooked; I listened to it in a few sittings and found it very enjoyable. Perhaps not quite the twisty ending that I was hoping for but still very good. I had no issues at all with the narrator, but everyone is obviously entitled to their opinion.

Another great book

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this. It have a long journey to drive on a regular basis and the story made it seem to go in minutes, I was so captivated.The characters were believable and the author draws you in from the first page.

При обсуждении любой темы важно учитывать не только лексический запас, но и грамматические моменты. Поэтому когда вы затронете тему семьи, необходимо помнить о следующем:

• Существительные, обозначающие родственников, как правило, употребляются: — с неопределенным артиклем, если речь идет об отношениях в целом, например, I have got a daughter — У меня есть дочь. На английском лучше использовать именно to have got в данном случае. — с нулевым артиклем и с заглавной буквы пишутся «Mother» «Father», когда мы говорим о своих родителях, например, Father is in the garage now. — Отец сейчас в гараже. — с именем собственным после слова или с притяжательным местоимением перед ним, например, I’m talking to Uncle Jim — Я разговариваю с дядей Джимом.
• Если мы говорим о чьих-то родных, обязательно нужно использовать соответствующее притяжательное местоимение, например, «Her cousin Kate is divorced» — Ее кузина Кейт в разводе.Если речь идет о членах одной семьи, необходимо перед фамилией поставить определенный артикль, например, the Johnsons — члены семейства Джонсонов.

План текста «Рассказ о семье» очень прост.

Вступление — некие общие слова о семье, ценности семьи, либо более простое «My name is __, let me tell you about my family».
Основная часть — собственно, рассказ о своей семье. Расскажите о родителях, братьях, сестрах. Сколько им лет, чем они занимаются (профессия или что изучают), возможно, чем увлекаются.
Также можно рассказать а бабушках, дедушках, других родственниках.
Можно добавить подробностей о семейных традициях

Завершите рассказ о семье общими словами о том, как вы друг друга любите или о важности семейных ценностей

Разумеется, не все семьи такие счастливые и идеальные, как в тексте ниже, но как правило рассказ или текст на эту тему должен быть позитивным, даже если это идет вразрез с правдой жизни. Все-таки, суть этого задания, проверить ваши знания и навыки, а не установить достоверные факты о вашей семье.
